2009-2011 Catalog Errata Sheet


The errors below are in the 2009-2011 print catalog but have been corrected in the 2009-2011 online Catalog.

Page 13; Typical Costs:

     The Graduate Psychology totals are

  • $33,882 with parents, not $33,765,
  • $36,966 on-campus, not $36,849,
  • $40,272 off-campus, not $39,330.

Page 37; Graduation Rate Disclosure:

  • The statistics in the first sentence should read: Of the full-time, degree-seeking, first-time freshmen who entered Biola University in Fall 2002 and three years prior, the average graduation rate for the four years of cohort classes is 68.8%.

Page 191-192; Nursing

  • The final bullet point under the first item in the Admission Requirements section:  Human Anatomy is BIOS 254, not BIOS 252.

Page 191-192; History

  • Under Secondary Instruction Concentration, third paragraph: is POSC 204, not POSC 203.

Page 333; TTSF 504

  • The prerequisite for this course is TTSF 503, not TTSF 502.

Page 344; Talbot Thesis Courses introductory paragraph

  • There should be a paragraph immediately following “Thesis Courses” that reads, “There are two consecutive thesis seminars for master’s-level students electing to write a thesis (Thesis First Draft and Thesis Final Draft).  These seminars are taken during the student’s last yer.  During the third semester before graduation, the student must, with the approval of a major advisor, select a thesis subject, do research, and develop an outline and bibliography.  During the final year, the thesis can be written in conjunction with these two courses.  See the Talbot student handbook and library handbook for dates, deadlines and requirements.”

Page 360; Rosemead Grading System

  • Grade B+ / Quality Above Average Achievement / Grade Points 3.33 should be included in this chart.
  • An F Grade is worth 0.00 Grade Points, not 1.33.

  • Research & Writing requirement is 6 units, not 8.
  • ISCL 881 requirement fits under the heading Dissertation, not Research & Writing
  • ISCL 880 should be taken for 6 units, not 8.

  • Second sentence should read, “Introduction to the dissertation process, including the selection and delimitation of a researchable dissertation topic.”

Page 411;  Master of Arts in Teaching

  • Add Early Childhood Education as an approved concentration for the personalized program under the heading in the second column entitled, Electives (12-15 units).

Page 414; Master of Arts in Education

  • Add Early Childhood Education as an approved 15-unit concentration for the personalized program under the heading in the first column entitled, Fifteen-unit concentration.

  • Fall 2009, MBA Fall Trimester ends December 4, 2009, not December 11th.
  • Spring 2010, Academic Advising for Fall Course Selection dates are April 12 - 23, not April 19 - 30.
  • Spring 2010, Registration for Summer Session and Course Selection for Fall Semester dates are April 26 - May 21, not May 3 - 21.
  • Summer 2010, M.A. Christian Apologetics Distance Learning Residence and M.A. Science & Religion Distance Learning Residency dates are June 27 - July 11, not July 11 - 24.
