ARAB 100 - Arabic Language and Culture I Credits 4

This is an introductory course designed to build basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) by focusing on the cultural content, vocabulary and grammar necessary to develop inter-cultural communicative competence at an intermediate low proficiency level. Lecture/Lab Hours: Five hours each week. Core Curriculum: Approved for Core - Foreign Language. Note(s): Students desiring to enroll in Arabic should do so during the freshman and sophomore years; it is impossible to complete Core Curriculum requirements (Bachelor of Arts degree) if the student starts in the senior year. Grade Mode: A.
Prerequisite(s): Students with high school Arabic should consult with the department for placement.
Restriction(s): Must be Undergraduate Level.

ARAB 200 - Arabic Language and Culture II Credits 4

Lecture/Lab Hours: Five hours each week. Core Curriculum: Approved for Core - Foreign Language. Note(s): Students desiring to enroll in Arabic should do so during the freshman and sophomore years; it is impossible to complete Core Curriculum requirements (Bachelor of Arts degree) if the student starts in the senior year. Grade Mode: A.

ARAB 205 - Intercultural Communication in Arabic Credits 4

This is an introductory course designed to build basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) by focusing on the cultural content, vocabulary and grammar necessary to develop intercultural communicative competence at an intermediate low-mid proficiency level. Core Curriculum: Approved for Core - Foreign Language. Note(s): Offered off campus and includes a service component and course fee depending on the location and itinerary of the class and service component. Grade Mode: A.
Prerequisite(s): ARAB 100 or demonstration of proficiency through department assessment.
Restriction(s): Must be Undergraduate Level.
