Readmission
A Biola student who has withdrawn for one semester or longer or has exceeded the time frame of their leave of absence is required to file an application for readmission. Generally, any holds on the student's account (ex: academic disqualification, accounting, etc.) must be resolved by the student and corresponding department prior to being readmitted. Students departing the university for one academic year (3 consecutive terms, e.g., fall, spring, summer) or longer will be required to follow the current catalog at the time of their readmission. An undergraduate student who readmits after an absence of five years may be required to complete a full application for entrance, whereas graduate students will be required to file a new application, and a pastor's reference. Depending on the length of absence, other requirements may also be necessary. Please contact the Office of Admissions for more information.
Readmission and Core Requirement Retention
Students who withdraw from the university retain previously completed Core Curriculum requirements, according to the catalog year they are under at withdrawal, if they apply to readmit within five years of their withdrawal date. After five years, previously completed Core Curriculum requirements will not be retained, and students will be held to the requirements of the current catalog at the time of readmission. Students who readmit with outside coursework will not be eligible for the Biblical and Theological Studies Requirements reduction.
